A Widow for One Year

I just finished up this novel, by Cider House Rule's John Irving. I expected it to be more mournful, given the title, but instead it was an interesting exploration of of relationships and how they can affect our lives, no matter how brief they are. Or how long. It also has lots of dirty sex.

I'm planning on checking out The Door in the Floor, a film based on the first section of the novel, soon, as that was the stand out part of the novel. The rest of the novel was interesting only because you wanted a conclusion to the characters that you grew to know in the first part.

Available at Amazon.
